Hey everyone! I hope you are all enjoying your holiday! As Dominic mentioned in his last email, I am our society's new secretary so you will be getting loads of letters from me throughout the year. Most of you have probably already met me, but those who have not - I am Stella. If you have any questions or problems, feel free to contact me as I am always willing to help. :) Our club did really well on London Cup, but there are more tournaments to come. In January there will be a tournament held in Warwick and I really recommend everyone, including people new to bridge, to participate. It is a fun way to learn more about bridge and spend some time with other players. If some of you would like to participate, but do not have a partner yet, just write me an email and we will sort things out for you. :) I wish you all merry Christmas and happy new year! Weekly Roundup

Hi everyone, A bit of a quiet tournament last week, but well done to everyone who participated. We also held our election for treasurer and secretary during the session, and so I'd like to give a warm welcome to Erik and Stella who were voted in for these roles! This week will sadly be our last session this term - I appreciate that it's the time of year where deadlines are looming, but it would be great to see everyone (even if you can just make it for an hour) before we go away for the holidays. There'll be some snacks and drinks during the session, and afterwards we will be heading down to the union. We won't be holding any sessions over the holidays, but that doesn't mean that you can't go on playing bridge - either with friends of family, or else your local town will most likely have a bridge club of its own. Young Chelsea in London offers free play to all students, and it is well worth going to continue honing your skills. If you have any questions about playing over the holidays then feel free to ask me and I'll help out as best I can. That's all for this week, and hopefully see all of you tomorrow! Dominic

Hi all, Tomorrow we will be having our second mini tournament! The session will start as usual at 6.00; please aim to arrive by 6.30 as we will be starting the tournament at half past. The format will be roughly similar to last time. I hope everybody found Mike to be useful over the last two weeks, he'll be coming back next term to do some more coaching - if anyone has any feedback, requests or other teaching related question then please get in touch with me. The election will be held at some point during tomorrow's session, probably just after the tournament. Sessions is in meeting rooms 1 and 2 like normal. Thanks, and see you all tomorrow! Dominic

Committee Election

Hiya all, This is just a quick message to say that next Monday (the 8th) we will be holding an election for the committee roles of Treasure and Secretary at the end of the session. All members of the club are allowed to run for these positions, and you can apply anytime up to and including the session on Monday. I'll be sending out the full weekly e-mail this weekend, but I'm required to give a few days' notice about an election. Thanks, Dominic
