IC Radio AGM + Student Radio Conference
Hi, Radio's AGM will be on the 26th March at 1800 - location to be confirmed. We need lots of new and enthusiastic people to join the committee for next year - about half of us are leaving :-/ The good news is that radio is *THE MOST FUN COMMITTEE EVER* and is way more cool than any other committee I've ever been on. The positions are detailed below. You're also welcome to ask myself about any questions you may have at all. *Send a < 200 word manifestos to me by noon on the 24th March to stand.* Also: The student radio conference is on the 20-22nd April. This is the most fun you can have in three days as several hundred students descend on the University of Exeter and go to talks, workshops and keynotes on topics form writing for radio, presenting, management and more. Plus in the evening are many parties/networking. Talks are done by radio professionals including household names and senior managers of national networks. HEAD OF MUSIC - In charge of our team that looks through and reviews all the music we get into the station, in charge of the music we play on sustain and the station playlist. Email music@icradio.com for more info DEPUTY HEAD OF MUSIC - Assists the HoM with all things musical TREASURER - In charge of IC Radio's ~£1500 budget, this is an excellent chance to manage a diverse and interesting society's finances. Email treasurer@icradio.com to talk to Frankie. TECHNICAL MANAGER - In charge of all the hardware including servers and works with the Head of Production to manage the sound equipment. Exciting, varied and challenging. on technical@icradio.com for more. HEAD OF PROGRAMMING - They are in charge of all the programming output. That means arranging a schedule, keeping people making shows and finding new content. This is all about making the stuff ICRadio broadcasts as good as we possibly can. Email Michael on programming@icradio.com HEAD OF TRAINING - This person is in charge of organising everyone's basic training in using the radio studio and also organising events to further everyone's competence with the equipment. They work with the technical manager to find out what is possible and how to do it. Ask Ethan what it's like on programming@icradio.com HEAD OF PRODUCTION - In charge of our recording studio and live sessions, a big growth area - this is about being able to teach and be organised, not just sound production. Ask Keir on keir.little11@imperial.ac.uk for info SECRETARY - Very important position - works with the station manager to look after the rest of the committee and know what everyone's up to. Ask Grace on secretary@icradio.com for info SOCIAL SECRETARY - Important to do when we wouldn't see each one another otherwise! DEPUTY STATION MANAGER - Assists with the station manager in whatever capacity is required of them. Official Constitutional Role Descriptions 6.1 The Chairman shall represent the club on the Management Group Board, and shall be responsible for making sure that the club is run according to the club constitution and Imperial College Union's Code of Conduct for Clubs, Societies & Projects as far as can be reasonably expected. 6.2 The Chairman and Treasurer shall sign an ICU Financial Responsibility form, and shall be aware of the ICU Financial Regulations. 6.3 The Treasurer shall carry out the day to day financial duties of the club. 6.4 The Chair/President/Captain shall be the Chair of the club and shall represent it on the Media Executive, and shall be responsible for making sure that the club is run according to the club constitution and code of conduct as far as can be reasonably expected. They shall sign an ICU Financial Responsibility form, and be aware of ICU Financial Regulations.. 6.5 The Junior Treasurer shall shallcarry out the day to day financial duties of the club, and, with the Station Manager, sign an ICU Financial Responsibility form and be aware of ICU Financial Regulations.. 6.6 The Secretary shall shallbe responsible for keeping the club records in good order. 6.7 The Head of Music shall shallbe responsible for liaising with record companies and concert promoters on behalf of the station, to provide new music, concert tickets, and interview opportunities for society members. . 6.8 The Head of Programming shall shall organise the broadcast schedule, working to improve and diversity it. 6.9 The Publicity shall shall be responsible for promoting the IC Radio Brand and individual IC Radio shows to thestudent body.. 6.10 The Production Studio Manager shall shall carry out the day to day running of the recording studio. 6.11 The Technical Manager shall carry out the day to day technical duties of the club. 6.12 The Social Secretary shall shall be responsible for organising social events for all the club members. 6.13 The Assistant Station Manager shall shall act as a general committee member and support any committee members who may request assistance with their individual duties. 6.14 The IT Manager shall shall be responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the IC Radio website and broadcasting servers. 6.15 The Head of Training shall will be responsible for the basic training and continual development of all show presenters and producers. 6.16 The Assistant Head of Music shall assist the Head of Music in liaising with record companies and concert promoters on behalf of the station, to provide new music, concert tickets, and interview opportunities for society members. . 6.17 The Head of Discos shall shall maintain and co-ordinate the hiring of IC Radio hire gear. 1. 1. -
