Hey everyone! Exciting stuff coming up in the next few weeks! AGM - Tues 5th of March, Beer & Biscuits Round 2! We'll be having our elections for next year's committee, accompanied by free beer & soft drinks & munchies and the usual banter. Please come along, as we need as many of our members as possible to make it legitimate! The roles you can go for are: STATION MANAGER - In ultimate control of everything that happens at the station, and a great position to be in if you want to implement some change! Email music@icradio.com for more info TREASURER - A pretty important job and one that looks amazing on your CV, you will get training on how to do this so no real previous experience is required. Our technical side has always been the real strength of IC Radio and we have a history of great, committed tech managers who will always help each other out. Email technical@icradio.com for details HEAD OF PROGRAMMING - An extremely important job, and probably the most social, you manage and run al of the radio content that we produce! Responsible for the initial training of new presenters and then for the weekly schedule. Email programming@icradio.com HEAD OF PRODUCTION - In charge of our recording studio and live sessions. This has been a constant area of growth within the station, and a pretty exciting job. Email production@icradio.com DISCO MANAGER - In charge of making us SGI (self-generated income) by renting out our DJ equipment, which is how we fund social events. Email discos@icradio.com HEAD OF PROMOTIONS - Promotions are an essential part of radio and something that can always be improved, so you'll be our go-to guy (or gal) for publicity! Email promotions@icradio.com SECRETARY - In charge of keeping minutes at the committee meetings, a small role but absolutely essential, and a good place to be if you want to contribute without doing too much work ;) Email secretary@icradio.com SOCIAL SECRETARY - Organises social events at the station in conjunction with the committee. ASSISTANT STATION MANAGER - Anyone who wants to be involved in the committee in a more general way should apply here! Nominations are now open, see the sign-up sheet at the station door. The floor will be open on the night too so if you're not sure come along anyway! I became station manager two years ago (good lord) on the night, so anything can happen! Varsity, Wednesday 13th of March We'll be covering Varsity this year for the first time in about 3 or 4 years, in conjunction with a big Media extravaganza organised by STOIC. We'll be grabbing a minibus (driven by yours truly, but don't let that put you off) and heading over for the day like the big media nerds we are.
