So after our call for applications to the role of deputy station manager we have been lucky enough to have a candidate! Please see Ellie's manifesto below: Having always been passionate about radio I would love to be considered for the role of Deputy Station Manager Music of course is the key component of IC Radio’s output and a university station is an amazing opportunity to learn a skill and share the music that you love. As head of content I would hope to get this message out there and to find and encourage those who are passionate about music of any genre to take the opportunity to produce a show. As well as this it would be my aim to expand IC Radio’s non-music output, working with other societies and departments to increase the number of magazine shows, dramas, one-off documentaries and interviews so that the station reflects what’s happening across the expanse of Imperial’s academic and wider interests. A seasoned IC Radio member, having had my own show back in the old studio days, I have also spent time in the last year interning for an indie BBC content production company. There I was a researcher for a wide range of shows and prepped interviews for Johnnie Walker and Terry Wogan. I also recently returned to help with the upcoming rounds of Radio 1 and 1Xtra pitches, putting together proposals for programmes and documentaries. All this has left me with a good grasp of the help needed for radio of various kinds and I would love to continue that at IC Radio next year. Thanks!
