Important and urgent! Student Radio Association awards - submission deadline 17th July
Dear IC Radio members Just 8 days if you want to submit something to the Student Radio Association (SRA) Awards. We have done really well in the past, and encourage anyone and everyone to think about applying. Yes the notice is very short, but we hope some of you will manage, and every entry gets feedback from professional radio people. * Very prestigious, with 6 nominees for each category; awards at the O2. Some of our past winners and nominees below * Information about categories and rules at http://www.studentradio.org.uk/ (and attached). * ICRadio 5 point guide pdf (attached) * We will help by listening to entries and giving feedback, if sent in time * I think ICRadio will pay the small submission fee! * You have to submit through IC Radio unless you are an individual member of SRA, but we can have as many entries to each category as we like, so its down to each shows to putting together an entry if they want to. (Note, though, that you submit, not us) Maybe let us know if you are thinking of applying (no commitment)? Looking forward to hearing from you Neil _____________________________________ IC Radio, past 5 years: Awards * 2014: Gold award for Best Speech Programming: Sound in Silence (Anand Jagatia) * 2012: Bronze award for Best Speech Programming: Beyond Silence - Saving the Sounds of Spring (Jen Whyntie) * 2012: Kevin Greening Award: Beyond Silence - Saving the Sounds of Spring (Jen Whyntie) * 2011: Bronze award for Best Newcomer - Aislinn Hayes Nominations * 2012: Best Speech Programming: Beyond Silence - Saving the Sounds of Spring (Jen Whyntie) * 2011: Best Newcomer: Aislinn Hayes * 2009: Best Male: Roushan Alam * 2009: Best Interview: Roushan Meets Derren Brown * 2009: Best Entertainment Programme: The Roushan Alam Show
