Why, hello there. Just a quick email about some rather exciting things happening in radio in the next couple of weeks that we really want you to be part of. 17TH MARCH 2010: IC RADIO VARSITY SPECIAL Varisty is the biggest sporting event of the year and at IC Radio we like to cover it in true sports (ahem) journalist fashion. Like last year, we plan on presenting a marathon show from 5-11pm, which will feature scores, updates and match reports from the 20 games happening on the day PLUS live commentary on the JPR Williams Trophy in the evening. Where do you come in? We need people to be our roving reporters at the grounds, bringing us score updates, interviews with players and goal flashes as they happen. We'd like people in the union, people on the buses and people in the crowd who are able to come on air via their mobile phone to bring the atmosphere of this great sporting event onto the radio. Last year it was brilliant and we would like to do it again. If you would like to be part of it hit me with a message (ra708@ic.ac.uk) and we will get you involved. The night usually ends in a KFC bargain bucket fueled piss up. Meet in radio at 5pm. 24TH MARCH 2010: IC RADIO AGM I will be honest with you, this is a piss poor name for what is a classic night in IC Radio's calender. Its where you get to have your say on the future of the station by standing and electing people for committee positions. Here is how it works:
BEFORE THE NIGHT: You will start to see forms go up in the studio where you can nominate people for the committee positions. Details of the positions and the beautiful people that held them this year can be found at http://www.icradio.com/about/people ON THE NIGHT This is our election night. We all get together from 7pm in the studios and run through each of the positions, have a mini hustings and then get down to the vote. The committee members are then announced on the same night before we launch into another fried chicken based after party. For details fire a quick email to the station secretary, Katie at clc08@ic.ac.uk.
Look forward to seeing you soon. Peace and love, peace and love, Roush x
