IC Radio Event 9/12/09
Hello Radio Lovers, You will all have got an email from Dan this week regarding an exclusive IC Radio event that is happening next Wednesday 9th December, in the studios, from 2pm. The afternoon will be full of talks, activities and question and answers regarding radio. In this email we go into more details on: 1) Who is coming 2) Having your demo critiqued by industry professionals 3) Confirming your attendance 1) The visit will be led by CHRIS NORTH, who is the head talent agent at Wise Buddah – the company that looks after pretty much every big name in radio. Radio 1 and Heart DJ VICKY BLIGHT will be there as well as some people who work behind the scenes at 6 MUSIC (subject to alterations). 2) The afternoon will consist of talks etc which should be insightful, however the part of the afternoon that I would actively encourage you to take part in is “DEMO FACTOR”. For the first time at IC Radio we will give you the chance to have your work heard by radio professionals, giving you tips and feedback on your work. Making a demo is EASY. You can download your shows from the “members area” (email technical@icradio.com to get a log in sorted if you haven’t already – although it will be first come first serve and I can’t promise everyone will have a log in by Wednesday as Chris is v v busy). Once you download your show, simply cut out the music using free to download software, like Audacity and then pop it on a CD and bring it a long. Even if it’s not your best work/it’s a recording of your latest show, bring it anyway! 3) We’re just trying to get an estimate of numbers, if you would like to attend please email me back (ra708@ic.ac.uk) , mention “Demo Factor” in your email if you would like to be considered for that part of the afternoon. Places are limited so we’re working on first come first serve basis. Dan may even get us some free drinks, who knows. Would be really good to see as many of you down as possible.
