Hey everyone! Hope you're enjoying your first term back at uni and back at IC Radio! We have a few bits and pieces of news to update you on... Success at the Student Radio Awards! Recent IC Radio alumnus Jen Whyntie won us Bronze for Best Speech Programming, and, most impressively, the Kevin Greening Award for Creativity at last week's SRA ceremony at the o2. That's out of all the entries for all the student radio stations across the UK!! We'll be publicising the bejaysus out of this when she gets feedback from the judges, so keep an eye out for the ICR Croc popping up over the next few weeks! In the meantime, it's never too early to think about entering next year's awards and keeping up our winning streak... See the attached how-to guide for tips! :) Speaking of success, we also hosted the National Student Chart Show last Sunday and it was very capably done by Happy Michael. Congrats Michael! If anyone else would like to give it a go, email me ASAP. Jingle all the way (I'm cringing as I type...) Today we recorded a promotional jingle for a TeachFirst event on Wednesday - it's up on the touchscreen in the studio, so anyone who has a show tomorrow or Wednesday please play out the TeachFirst jingle! It's 40 seconds long and, in my expert opinion, extremely professional thanks to our representative's smooth script. Also, our Assistant Manager Ronan will be in touch over the next few days about organising jingle sessions for anyone looking for a personal touch to their show! Free Advertising with ICU Cinema If anyone has been to ICU Cinema lately, they may have noticed a small IC Radio segment from yours truly and my co-host Craig before the films. Cinema have had a very positive reaction to it and eager for more! If you'd like to contribute any sets, of perhaps about 10-20 minutes in length, email me for the deets and advice about recording at manager@icradio.com! Free flights to Belfast!
