Hi guys, Hope everything is going well. Little update for everyone with regards to how we're doing so far this year and how we can push on for the rest of the term. SCHEDULE Schedule-wise we are in as strong position, for this time of year, as I've seen us. The guy that needs the big thanks there is Andy for working tirelessly to get all you newbees up and running asap. We're starting to fill up, but there's still plenty of space. If you are still unsure about whether you want to/are good enough to do a show don't hesitate to get in touch and we can show you the ropes, then you can decide if it is for you. We are planning some schedule re-structuring which will hopefully benefit all. Basically we want to try and group similarly minded shows together so they can learn from each other and hopefully share a bit of listener-ship (the aim is for the standard listen to tune in to IC RADIO for a night rather than a show). EVENTS Events so far this year have been a good learning platform and something that we can build on. We have a Christmas Party night scheduled in at the union at the end of term - more details to come in a few weeks, plus much much more to think about and plan. We also have a very special event coming up, a workshop/talk from people who are actually in the radio industry. These workshops will cover everything from planning/producing radio shows, promoting your show around campus to how to break into the industry and what opportunities there are for us as Imperial College students. It's going to be an amazing experience and has come as a result with a lot of close working with dedicated members of the SRA (student radio association), plus it will be totally free. The provisional date for this event is the 9th DECEMBER, i.e. a Wednesday afternoon., but I will confirm all nearer to the date. SRA The SRA also stands for the Student Radio Awards, at which we are nominated for 3 awards. The ceremony is to be held on the 24th November and IC RADIO has fairly decent support going along to support. If you missed out on getting a ticket then there are still opportunities to steward the event, it is a voluntary thing but you will get meals paid for and will get to celebrate with everyone at the after party in the O2. If you're interested then get in touch and I can give more details. That's it for now, thanks again and keep up the good work. Dan
