Hello beautiful people! As you may know, if you've ever listened to radio when there aren't any shows playing, our Sustain service is pretty weak. It's set to play our entire library on random, which includes a lot of bad or simply random tracks like looong classical movements or Christmas carols... So, what to do: come down to the station tomorrow (Thursday 26th ) at 4pm and we'll get a discussion going and the whole thing rolling. I know it's short notice, but the sooner we start this the better; if you can't make it but wanna be part of this, let me know and of course give me your thoughts on making sustain sound good. We're getting a team for this (and other music-related stuff) so if you want in, just email me and we'll try to fix meeting dates that suit all... We've got some ideas to put into action but need support and more suggestions in this massive task, which is to completely reform sustain. It needn't be very difficult or time consuming (especially if there are many involved) but since we're changing the whole thing, we might as well introduce new creativity so that there is no longer such a large gap between the quality of shows and the sustain service. Basically there are plenty of ideas: creating many many playlists that we'll update regularly, include interviews, news, highlights of each week etc. etc. But people need to actually get onto this and start ripping cds/making playlists and so on, which would be good for people to help out with (we've got tons of new material coming in...) So if you want to get introduced to new or different styles of music and have a say on what our radio should play GET INVOLVED! All the best, and I hope I see/hear from many of our new members! Kate
