IC RADIO: Some pre-term information !!
Hope all of you’ve all had a wonderful summer!! We look forward to hearing all your lovely voices back on-air come the start of term! Committee have been working hard in the past couple weeks to make IC Radio’s return to term mAssive!!! Apologies for the long email, but we’ve got some important stuff to air !! EMAIL SUMMARY: EGM, New committee, (mostly) working studio!!, Freshers Fair, IC radio whatsapp GC Extraordinary General Meeting We will be having an EGM on Friday 28th September, 5-6pm in the West Basement, to officially vote for a couple roles in committee that have been left opened for 2019-20. If you’re interested in applying for either of these roles - send your manifesto to icr@imperial.ac.uk! The roles are: Station Manager In ultimate control of everything that happens at the station, and a great position to be in if you want to implement some change! Your job is to make sure everything runs smoothly! Head of Music The sustain play list you (are supposed to) hear when there are no shows on is curated by the Head of Music, who is responsible for ensuring that the music selection is up to date and enjoyable to listen to. They are also responsible for looking after IC Radio's vast collection of CDs and vinyl. Head of Programing Head of Programming is responsible for managing the IC Radio schedule. While this principally involves assigning slots to shows once their presenters are trained in the studio, this can also involve booking time for recording sessions and ensuring that popular slots are used regularly *PSA: from your IT Manager, Fraser May* The broadcasting is working now!! The problem was that the server ran out of disk space, but we've moved older recordings onto an external hard drive to make space on the server!! N.B. We will do our best to stay on top of the radio station this year, keeping the facilities to the standard of all of your show!! Freshers Fair (Tues 2nd October & Wed 3rd October) We’ve got a stall on Tuesday 2nd October at the Freshers Fair -- details will be released at the Welcome Briefing on Friday 27th September. Can you fill in the Google form below regarding your availability for the day? I’ve registered IC radio for the CSP Wanna-Go-Wednesday (3rd October), where me and Lancelot will be giving some registered freshers some on-air experience and a brief introduction to the recording studio.
