IC RADIO talks with the "industry"
Hi. First off, consolidations to Roushan on coming back from the SRAs empty handed....What a fix, however I think a good time was had by all. Anyway, we still have a big event coming up before the end of term... Next Wednesday (9th December) we're going to have a few guys down at IC RADIO who are pretty instrumental in bridging the gap between student radio and doing it on a professional level. They've all be part of student radios in the past and so know what it's like to do a show on a station like ours. I've asked them to talk about things like production and marketing (as well as what options there are afterwards), and so it should be a good experience even if you aren't necessarily looking towards a career in radio. To give you a vague idea of the running order (bare in mind this is still likely to change a bit): 2-3pm Introductions over view of the day and What's your station for? Q and A's that people have so we can answer them in the day. 3-4pm What is IC Radio? Life after IC Radio - student radio and the bigger picture 4-5pm Marketing, Branding on and off air. Including support / events etc 5-6pm Programming - including Clock / Producers / Snoops / Specialist & Mainstream 6-7pm Demo Factor Light 7pm + Drinks in the Union. So yeah, hope to see you down next Wednesday. (And yes it is free, we might even throw in some free refreshments!) Any questions about anything, don't hesitate to get in touch. Dan
