Want more people to listen to your show?
Hi everyone, Our excellent head of promotions wants to tell you how to... promote yourself. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hey everyone, I hope you’ve all settled into radio, I’ve been listening to a lot of new shows and there’s so much great stuff going on at ICRadio at the moment! Now that you know the ins and outs of hosting a show, it’s a great time to try and boost your listener count. There are loads of easy ways to do this and it’s my job to get as many people listening to you as possible. WEBSITE BANNERS As some of you may have noticed, we have a huge banner on the icradio.com<http://icradio.com> website where you can promote your show. All you need to do is produce a 900px wide, 300px tall image which advertises your show. The more eye-catching the better but be sure to keep the design sensible. Good things to include are the day and time of your show and maybe a brief description too, which can be included as a caption. Send me the image (as a .jpg or .png) and caption topublicity@icradio.com<mailto:publicity@icradio.com> and I’ll upload them as soon as possible. POSTERS Posters around campus are a great way of attracting new listeners though the Union has a few rules regarding what you can and can’t put on them. These can be found here (https://www.imperialcollegeunion.org/sites/default/files/Publicity%205%EF%80...) Basically, they need to display the both the Union’s and ICRadio’s logo and not have any bad language/anything controversial on them. As with the web banners, make sure to think about the design – I find the philosophy of less is more works best. If you need copies of the logos, send me an email. FRESHERS ON THE RADIO If you’re new to radio this year then we’d love to know how you’ve found starting your own show. We’re looking to include a few short articles in Felix, on our blog and on a new Union media page. It would be a sort of ‘day in the life’ of radio, drop me an email if you’re interested in writing something. Thanks! Matt Head of Publicity --------------------------------------------------------------------------- On sadder news it has come to my attention that someone has graffitied the new desk, already! This is not cool, there is now a security camera in the radio studio. Long live the croc! Eamonn
