IMPORTANT - West Base Rennovation
Hi, Hopefully you're all aware that along with the rest of the basement, IC Radio will be being redeveloped soon. This is a great opportunity, we're going to get new equipment in a bigger and better space. The studio will move from its current location, to down the corridor where STOIC currently is. I've attached a provisional plan of what the basement will look like. Radio is in red. To ensured that all the work is done in time for Freshers' Week 2014, they have moved the work forwards meaning we're now moving out the week the 17th to the 22nd March. *This means that you will not have access to the radio studio from the 17th March until October 2014* I urge you all to take advantage of the remaining month of radio. We've got lots of events we're cramming in before we leave including covering RAG (Aislinn on aislinn.hayes10@imperial.ac.uk) week and live from Metric ( alexander.malcolm09@imperial.ac.uk) You have 5 weeks left to make the most of your membership! Get in touch with me to help with events. Here are some FAQs: Q: New studio? Sounds awesome, can I help in anyway? A: YES PLEASE! We've got lots of stuff to sell, things to pack, take apart, design, research, layout, all sorts. No expertise required, the more people we have to sell off things the money we have for new stuff Please do reply, many hands make light work.* I can't stress how much we need people to help this.* Q: I have a spare room somewhere on campus, would IC Radio be interested in borrowing it next term? A: Yes we would! Email George on manager@icradio.com Q: I use IC Radio to produce my coursework/DJ sets/future radio career - can you provide alternative facilities to help? A: No. Not unless someone does the above. Sorry. Q: I have a large sum of money I'd like to donate to IC Radio to help with the redevelopment, will you accept it? A: Yes we would :-) Q: What about all the vinyls/CDs? A: We're hoping to put them in storage over the summer, then work out how many we can keep next year. Unfortunately we're unlikely to have as much storage space for them as currently do (there are even more hidden in filing cabinets around the basement that you first think) Q: What about those CDJs you said we'd applied for? A: We have applied for them but Harlington is taking ages to get back to us. Even if we don't get funding, they're unlikely to be installed in the current studio so I'm afraid you're going to have to wait till October Any other questions email me on manager@icradio.com.
