Hi all, Find below the short bits each of the two nominees for Social Sec have written. If you could email your vote (either candidate, abstain or Re-Open Nominations) to manager@icradio.com before Wednesday at 6pm that'd be great, so in alphabetical order: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ There are 2 things i love in my life... Sleeping and Myself. Sorry... that came out wrong. What i meant to say was that the 2 things i love in my life are Radio and Socialising. Seriously though now, this is genuinely why I am nominating myself for ICRadio's Social Secretary position. I honestly love Radio with all my heart and I also really enjoy meeting and getting to know new people. Therefore I would love to become responsible for organising social events for all ICRadio members allowing us all to meet some of the other amazing people that contribute to our loved radio station and hopefully generate more of a community feel between us all. Added to this, i think i would be suited for this role as i am very organised, shown by the fact i am already the VPO of Imperial RAG and so therefore organising events wouldn't be too difficult for me to do. Many Thanks for Considering Me Regards Arran ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I'd like to apply for the 'Social Secretary' position. The beer and biscuits event was a great way to introduce everyone to each other and it would be a shame to not have similar events in the future. Obviously we have much reason to organize such events too - the new studio! If I become social secretary I'll organize a celebration akin to the beer and biscuits for the end of this term and following that, and budget permitting, an event either side of each following term. Such get-togethers are of use to everyone in the club and a great excuse to get out of the basement. Further than these termly events, I'll also strengthen the resolve of such happenings such as the jingle making competition, encouraging people to take part and organize the venues for them - as well as creating similar events. I'm a first year student and I want to live in halls next year, so I need to show coordination skills and a determination to help/organize - having my ulterior motives in mind, you can clearly see that I'll be a devoted social secretary. On top of that I used to be the president of my college's debating society and I used to help out organizing sports days for kids with often over 110 kids per event - I know how to do this. Many thanks, Ivan Zheludev (Vanya from Letters from the Ghetto) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- All the best Eamonn
