Hey everyone! Your radio-loving committee met up today, so we're updating you guys on a few bits and pieces... Music update and maintenance on Saturday We'll be heading down to the studio tomorrow (or rather, today) from about 2pm for a bit of studio TLC to the sounds of TLC. If you have any suggestions for artists/genres you'd like added to the music library, let me know or even pop on down and stick your head in. We'll be checking up on the microphones and headphones and a general tidy up too, probably ordering a pizza, abusing cheap union drinks, etc... Website and recording While, unfortunately, show recording is still down, our very hard-working technical team has managed to get the website and members area back online by hosting the database on the computer in the front of the office, so "don't turn it off or run Military Grade missile detection systems on it or things of a similar nature." Wise words there from Technical Manager Joe. A few small rules to be aware of... To keep the station running at its best, we all have to do our part to look after it and keep it as bangin' as the Croc intended it to be. If you break something, please don't try to hide it or ignore it - just email us or let us know, you won't get in trouble, we do have a budget to take care of accidents but we can't fix anything unless we know about it! FYI for the moment, try not to kick the server underneath the desk in the interview room - it's there until we can hire some professional help to get it up and running again for show recordings. RBS ESSA Youtube Competition Basically, if we make a good YouTube video about our society and get enough hits on it, we can win lots of money from the RBS group-sponsored scheme for enterprising student societies. If you have any ideas or want to get involved in the making of this video (about one to two minutes long) let me know, otherwise next term we'll be knocking around with a camera filming things and spamming the video all over the place. Free Advertising with ICU Cinema ICU Cinema want entertaining! Stuff we want to buy The station is planning on investing in some new speakers for events so that our disco hire kit will be fully equipped to rent out. Pass us on to any friends/events you know that want to hire equipment! We're also sniffing around the idea of investing in a new Mac to install in the studio office specifically for audio editing and jingle creating (and Facebooking etc obviously). We're also still hunting for a decent new drum kit to invest in (with Jazz & Rock), so if you have any knowledge/know of any deals, hit us up! More promotions!
