Manifestos

Head of Promotions - Shivani Dave
I would like the role of head of promotions to really springboard the engagement with IC Radio across campus. 
>From having prize giveaways to increase social media engagement to having promotional videos and even stash worn around campus so people really know who we are and boost brand awareness. 
We have a strong history of music shows at the station but I want to promote the ability to host speech shows for specific societies to raise issues people in their communities face, for example the feminist society or LGBT community. To do this I will work closely with other Union societies and the Head of Programming. Mostly I just want to help to make IC Radio the best it can be by boosting engagement with listeners and presenters.

IT Manager - John Oliver

I am running for the position of IT Manager for ICRadio because I feel I have a fairly good understanding of the importance and technical requirements of the IT systems of a small online radio station, as well as the knowledge to underpin good IT practice.
I hope that my current and ongoing experience as the DramSoc Systems Administrator would be helpful in this regard, as I have experience with Windows and UNIX-based systems, as well as general technical knowledge as a result of the practical work undertaken with DramSoc.
Thank you, members of ICRadio, for considering me for the role, and I look forward to being able to ensure a good continuity of service for the society in these turbulent times.
IT Manager - Fraser May
Although I have no formal IT experience, I have worked on many personal projects and helped out friends and family with a number of IT related issues. For example setting up dedicated servers for multiplayer games, and designing/building websites to teach myself about different programming languages and frameworks. I feel this has given me a sufficient breadth of knowledge to be able maintain a system based on lots of varied and interconnected parts, such as IC Radio's.

IC Radio Lunches

We're beginning to host weekly IC Radio lunches in JCR.  These are a great chance to meet the Radio community outside a darkened basement - keep an eye out on the Facebook page for dates!

Shadow a Show

If you want to complement your studio training by making a guest appearance on an established show, please get in touch with our Head of Training, Michael Hein (michael.hain16@imperial.ac.uk).  Working the studio can be daunting at first - that's why our experienced hosts want to demonstrate that it's really not so scary!

How shows work on IC Radio

All shows are streamed and managed through our website: feel free to get inspired by the recordings available there!

All IC Radio members can book a weekly hour-long slot in the studio.  You're then free to do whatever you want with your allotted time: interview some guests, play some music, or even invite some live performers!

Before starting a show, you must have IC Radio membership and you must have completed the studio training course.  To sign up for the studio introduction, please email our Head of Training (Michael Hain - michael.hain16@imperial.ac.uk); you should contact our Head of Programming (Thomas Carroll - programming@icradio.com) to reserve your show's slot.

Other benefits of membership

As well as gaining access to our fully-equipped live broadcast studio, membership allows you to use our state-of-the-art recording studio for all your podcast and music needs.  We also have an extensive catalogue of thousands of vinyl records that you can play at your leisure.

Membership funds our music licensing fees, so you can play anything you like on air without having to worry about copyright!
