Dear ICRadio Members,
Following our AGM, I'd like to welcome everyone who stood for a position into the committee - I look
forward to seeing where you take the Radio next year!
We didn't however manage to fill several key positions, including Head
of Programming, Head
of Training and Treasurer.
While these may not sound particularly exciting, they are critical positions if ICRadio wants to keep working as a society.
Most of you will know our current Head
of Programming, Thomas, as the person who you emailed for a show slot, and without him this society
would be a lot more dysfunctional (assuming it would even functional at all). Michael, the current Head
of Training, is probably one of the few people who has seen all our new members and taught them
how to put on a show. Without him, we wouldn't have nearly as many members given how difficult it is to use all the equipment / Member's Area if you're completely new to it. Finally, our Treasurer is
vital since they are the person who makes sure we pay our licenses on time and are even able to broadcast! We also have the roles of Deputy
Head of Music and Assistant
Station Manager available, both of which would be useful to have.
ICRadio has been around since 1975, and I will be damned if I'm the Station Manager who sees this society
go down the drain because we couldn't fill these positions. Many of you are able to do your shows and use our equipment without any (or much) hassle thanks to the committee, so please take the time to consider giving back to this Society.
If you would like to stand for one of these positions, please
reply to this email ASAP. Once we have a complete field of candidates, we will circulate a quick survey to vote in the new committee members.
