Hi, You have just over a week (till the 11th July ) to get your final SRA award entry to me - I'll remind you how important it is to get lots of feedback from lots of people before you send it in, so make it quickly! Hi Here are 5 reasons to enter the SRA Awards. *1) You're guaranteed excellent feedback from the judges, who are all radio industry professionals* *2) Being shortlisted for an award (or even winning one) is well regarded and brilliant CV material for being a radio presenter/producer* *3) It's completely free (for IC Radio members)* *4) ** There are fourteen different categories <http://www.studentradioawards.co.uk/awardscategories>, so there's definitely something for you* *5) The awards ceremony is a swish do at the O2 with big names from the radio industry and is much fun to go to!* I'm setting an internal deadline of the 11th July, you need to get your entry to me before then. I encourage you to prepare your entry soon, then get lots of people to listen to it (including yours truly if you'd like). You'll get plenty of feedback to work on before you send it to me. Hello everyone, There's an upcoming *by election for next year's Media Secretary*. ~An important role, you keep good records of what the media group does at its meetings. Entering is not difficult - there are lots of people who have produced some fantastic radio this year and should definitely consider entering. Categories vary from best Male/Female, to best newcomer, to best radio play and more. Many thanks to the incoming media tech manager, Luke Granger-Brown, and Felix editor and ex radio tech manager, Joseph Letts, for making this happen. If you have a *pre recorded show *you'd like to play out, get in touch and we can make that happen. I am very comfortable with Linux, having used it both personally and for research for almost 5 years now. I have also worked as a web-developer for an Imperial startup since July, predominantly writing and maintaining python server-code. I would really enjoy getting stuck in on the technical side of IC Radio, and with my experience I think I can really help keep your Radio running as smoothly as possible. ----- Luke Granger-Brown ----- As your IC Radio IT Manager, I will endeavour to ensure that all things IT are functioning correctly. I have had much experience with Linux, Python and Django and love doing all sorts of random amazing hacks to make things work about 20% cooler. However, since the email was explicit in its instruction to include a "100-word" manifesto, I am now padding this manifesto out with complete and utter nonsense that no one will actually read, because I like following instructions to the letter - which is why I'd be really great as your IC Radio IT Manager. Hi If you *ordered a hoody *- they should be here tomorrow - come and pick them up from me in SAC (level 2M of the main union building) between 4 and 4:15. Email me if you can't make it then. The studio is all packed up! Sad times, another *massive thank you* to everyone who made the effort to come and help - I'll send round a photo gallery later. We'll organise some events for you all after the holidays - for now enjoy Easter!
