Merry Christmas!
We hope you've had an enjoyable term. With Christmas well on its way, IC Radio is buying all sorts of new tech to improve your experience. While this is all very exciting, we must relay urgent information about the availability of the studio:
We are (finally) renovating the computers in the studio on Friday 15/12. Unfortunately, that means you won't be able to come do your show on Friday. Furthermore, we will be tidying up the West Basement in the first week of next term, which may lead to some disruptions to the weekly schedule. We're really sorry for the short notice of this, but we promise it's for the greater good.
Planned improvements to the studio include:
* New Windows PC this Friday - this will no longer unexpectedly freeze!
* New Rivendell computer - finally properly fixing Sustain, and updating the playlist!
* Better echo-prevention - you'll be able to listen to broadcasts involving 3 or more people in our studio without your ears bleeding!
* New IC Radio servers - this will have plenty more storage and will make the move to a new website much easier.
What's that? New website you hear us say? It's long overdue, and we're planning to roll that out for next academic year.
Send us your favourite songs to populate Sustain - the IC Radio playlist
The link below will take you to the OneDrive folder with all your music submissions. Please make sure your files are properly tagged. We're looking for high-quality submissions, so please refrain from sending MP3s ripped from YouTube! Let us know if you want to retrieve your recordings and jingles
Old jingles and recordings won't be moved to the new server. They won't be wiped - but it would be easiest for you to download them now. If you want some help and more information about the move, please reply to this email.
Student Radio Awards (SRA)
