An incentive for submitting your playlists!

Dear presenters, You will notice a change to our homepage. Shows that submit their playlists promptly will get featured as seen in the screenshot below. The idea being that first-time listeners will be able to discover shows that play music that they like. The images are retrieved automatically so please try to avoid typos when filling in your playlists. If the script can't find a matching piece of artwork, you won't get a link to your page. Having said that, it generally finds artwork for most artists (even if you are indie-r than indiana jones) Cheers Oli

ICRadio is down for Union Maintenence

Hi all, ICR has been turned off. This is because the union is conducting maintenance in the union over the next 24 hours which will involve turning off the power. Please be aware this affects all ICRadio services and as such, I advise you to wait until sunday evening to do any radio business. IC RADIO IMPORTANT

Hello all, Sorry about the little scare yesterday. First off, radio is back online. If you had a show planned for today then everything is running as normal. A little bit of information about what happened. Yesterday morning the Rector received a complaint from a "member of public" about offensive material on an IC RADIO show the night before. A guest on the show used the word "Paki". When I investigated it turns out that the word was directed at a friend who is usually on the show, however this has obviously been taken out of context. The offending show has since been taken off the website while it was off-line last night. I want to use this opportunity to remind everyone that they are responsible for what they (or anyone else on their show) says on air. Things that may seem like "banter" between friends may be taken another way by someone else that is listening in. As IC RADIO we are one of the media faces of the University - Something like this could really hurt the reputation of the establishment! Anyway, wrists slapped. The guest who made the comments has written an official apology to the Rector and the member of public, I have written an apology to the Rector. We understand that these things occasionally happen, and so, we are implementing a simple way for the show presenter to stop a radio show being uploaded to the website. If you think that there is something a little dodgy on the show then click this and it wont go up. Finally, just make sure that you use your common sense when making a broadcast. We all like to have fun but please don't ruin it for everyone else. Thanks Dan

IC RADIO down until further notice

Dear all, Due to a "complaint from a member of public" IC RADIO is currently off air. Hopefully this should be sorted within the next day or so, but I will keep you posted on developments.
