Hi, Malcolm from the union told me that you might be able to help us with arranging a DJ for our charity fundraising night on the 25th, Tuesday that is going to be in metric. I know that this is a bit short notice but the DJ that was willing to help us just told us that he can't do it. We will very much appreciate if you could help us to arrange one, if DJ not possible, we can have our own play list but will certainly need someone who can use the equipment in metric for which we will pay. Important - ICRadio is down this evening **18th Jan**

Hi guys, There are two technical issues you need to be aware of today 1) New Hard Disk Installation You cannot at present access icradio.com<http://icradio.com>. Why? Do you remember that icradio.com<http://icradio.com> went down after christmas? This is because one of our hard disks (1 of 4) went kerput. Today a new one was delivered and at present is being loaded into our Network storage device. However the process is lengthy (its taken three hours to be at 40%) and all icradio services are unavailable during this time. 2) Sustain and the main Studio Computer is down Why? We got reports that the computer would not turn on. This computer is always running and is responsible for playing music whilst the studio is unmanned. It would appear that the power unit inside the computer box has died. This was completely unexpected and we are going to insert a new one tomorrow at 11amish but we cannot guarantee that it will be fixed by then. I urge you to not interfere with the computer at any time other than to use Rivendell Show panels on the touch screen and to browse the internet. I should also point out that there is a second computer (albeit awkward to get to) in the other corner of the studio. This one is solely for the internet and you will find that works much much faster when it comes to browsing the internet. I would also like to apologise for not giving warning to the station's downtime. To be honest, I wasn't sure how long this process would take and I foolishly assumed that it wouldn't take more than an hour or so. I hope you understand that running an online radio station is a troublesome task that relies heavily on all of our computers. All the computers you see at the station have specific roles and should be treated with care. If you ever spot anything please report it asap and we will fix it as soon as we possibly can. Welcome back to London.

Howdi, Quick update about radio in the new term. I hope that everyone had a good Christmas and New Years Eve I didn't. Two weeks of finals as soon as I got back to London have made sure of that.... Anyway, enough about me! Hopefully everyone that wanted to get involved with radio did so last term. If, however, you were too shy/self concious etc - don't be! Reply to this email with your thoughts and I'll do what I can to help! We had a good schedule last term, but I think we can do even better. KEY LIST I keep getting emails from people asking if they can be put on the key list. The list gets updated directly from a list of our members (although this hasn't been done since the beginning of December). I will be updating the list again this afternoon, if you know that you aren't on it and think that you should be then, first, check you are a member (http://www.imperialcollegeunion.org/radio-211/category.html) and if you are then shoot me and email and I'll check you are on our list. TECH Student radio is always littered with tech issues - the latest being a couple of our hard drives slightly over doing it on NYE and eventually melting. To be honest I think they were just being post-ironic and bringing back the Millennium Bug. Who knows... Anyway, it should be fixed now. We had a few complaints of "distorty"/"robot" microphones last term. The issue is being looked into and should hopefully be solved - if you do notice this again then make sure you give Oli an email at technical(a)icradio.com In fact, ANY technical issues at all, email Oli or me and we will sort it. SESSIONS If you've read any of my little emails then you'll know that I bang on about the live sessions that we do. With good reason though! We recorded a grand total of 13 sessions last term, the best ones stored up here - http://icradiorecordings.bandcamp.com/ One particular highlight was definitely the Blabbermouth session, which was sent straight to 6music an ended up getting him a gig with one of their showcase shows. The plan for sessions in this coming term is yet to be confirmed, however we are currently in talks with the management of "Brothers" - front cover of NME this week. ICRadio.com is down and I need your help

ICRadio has gone down and its the holidays. As technical manager this is my problem but I am in Worcestershire and working until Sunday 9th Jan. I really need someone to go down into the station and to restart our storage device. (Think of it as a USB stick that contains everything ICRadio).
