SRA Awards and Launch Week

Hi there, Big thanks to everyone that has been getting involved with the society so far. It has been the best start to a year that I can remember and can only get better. Next week is our "Launch Week", we will be having a big section in Felix today (I've yet to see it) advertising our station and hopefully everyone that wanted to take part in it has had their training. You may have noticed that some shows have a banner and "square" on the front page. If you would like your show to feature on this then you need to send me a 900x200 pixel banner and a 200x200 pixel square. You should have gotten an email this week from Oli talking about our new members area setup. The boys have put a hell of a lot of effort into it and it's looking great! We are nominated for an awards and so are going to go for a meal as a station and then onto the big event. ICRadio: **Important** Update to ICRadio Members

Dear all, As we clean the cobwebs out of our admin system, we have changed the way we welcome new people to ICRadio. As of now, once you pay your membership you will be emailed automatically with your new ICRadio account log in details. Unfortunately, this email will not appear immediately. This is because of the Union and not because of us. Having said that you should get the email within 24 hours. I advise you to pay your membership sooner rather than later so that you can log in to your area and start preparing for your show(s) as soon as possible. Pre-existing members BEWARE! You will not be able to access your account without paying for this year's membership first!!! Urgent: Scheduling!!

To everyone who wants a show and hasn't got one yet... If you haven't had training: Come to the remaining training sessions this week! Tuesday noon, Wednesday noon and 1pm, and more if needs be. If you have had training: Email me your SHOW NAME and your preferred slot (see the attached screen shot for free slots). Can't do anything without a show name. Do this ASAP!!! Because Launch Week is on the 1st of November, and we have a massive Felix thingy this week, and the schedule needs to be sent tomorrow latest! Also, if you send Dan a synopsis of your show you might get it into the paper. You can still have a show after this deadline obviously, but you're gonna miss out on loads of free publicity.. Hello people! I need everyone to send me all the reviews they've done since exams last year so that i can put them up on the blog and our website -making room for that, will be ready soon. I also want all your interviews, no matter how old, as long as they're in good shape -edited in some way. This is good for promoters to be able to see what we've done and give us good interviews! Do get onto this as soon as you can please and have the file the file titles for gig reviews : 'band live @ venue, date'; for interviews: 'radio member interviews artist, date'. Radio 1 And Global Radio Tours

Hi All, After all of the intros and inductions its time to get into the real radio stuff. As nominees at this year's Student Radio Awards we are entitled to a tour of Global Radio (home of capital, heart, kiss, galaxy, lbc and choice) and Radio 1 + a talk from Ben Cooper, deputy of Radio 1/1Xtra. Its happening on 11th November and the details/times are below. Places are restricted and are open to everyone in the whole of student radio; so IC Radio may only get 5 or 6 places, which will be allocated on a first come first serve basis. If you want to go, email me on roush.alam(a)gmail.com with your name, email and phone number. At 4pm tomorrow (Sat) I will send the list off and hope that as many of us can go as possible. This means emailing me does not necessarily guarantee a place, however those who win places will be notified in the next week or two. Good luck. Howdi all, Hope you've all had a good week. If you haven't signed up to the society then go do so! We can't access our full budget until we fill our membership quota. https://www.imperialcollegeunion.org/radio-211/radio-membership/product.html Thank you to everyone who send in a description of their show, the response was far better than I expected! We have decided to wait until next week's Felix for our entry, meaning that if you didn't get a show description to me by tuesday this week there is still time. If you have any questions about it then don't hesitate to email me. Hopefully everyone who is wanting to start up a new show is well on the way to doing that now. If not then it's not too late either, email Ramy at programming(a)icradio.com for more information on how to get started. We are aiming to have a 'launch week' starting a week on Monday. We will be promoting etc a lot for it, so getting your show up and running by then is a really good idea. Sessions. By now you probably all know that the sessions are my baby. They are going really well so far and it's great to have some fresh faces down to see what we do/help out. If you have a passion for live music, like we do, then the sessions are a great way to spend a lunchtime. We are starting to upload the sessions that we're doing to our icradio Recordings bandcamp.
