All welcome! Reply-To: Tom Melham <Tom.Melham@CS.OX.AC.UK<mailto:Tom.Melham@CS.OX.AC.UK>> Dear Colleagues, Please allow me to remind you of the "Computer Science Day" run by the London Mathematical Society, which this year is co-organised by Professor Ursula Martin and is on the topic of Mathematics Research Beyond the Blackboard. We still have a few places left, and warmly welcome your participation. We have a fantastic line-up of speakers: John Harrison (Intel), Nick Trefethen (Oxford), Ursula Martin (QM), and Steve Linton (St Andrews). The theme of the colloquium is the way in which computer science has made a variety of contributions to how contemporary mathematics research is done. This forward-looking colloquium will take place at the London Mathematical Society on Tuesday 29 October, and all interested mathematicians and computer scientists are welcome to come. Some funds are available to help with travel costs of PhD students. I attach a poster about the colloquium, and I would be very grateful if you would circulate this to colleagues in Computer Science and Mathematics. Please see the poster for how to register. All best regards, Tom Melham Chair, Computer Science Committee, LMS
