Reminder: reading group today at 2pm
Dear all, a reminder that we're kicking off our reading group today at 2pm UK time. It's a UK bank holiday, so if you are not there don't worry, we won't get too far! Recall that the thesis we're reading is: https://www.asc.tuwien.ac.at/~schoeberl/wiki/publications/diss.pdf Zoom link: https://durhamuniversity.zoom.us/j/95827899769?pwd=RU5MRW5IQkNxVHlLQXlFSXpIb... Or by hand: Meeting ID: 958 2789 9769 Password: 982161 Cheers, Lawrence
Thanks for attending today. To gather some of our notes and questions as we go, I started a wiki page on the Firedrake wiki. https://github.com/firedrakeproject/firedrake/wiki/Reading-group I've made a note of Matt's comment linking to the Brannick paper on compatible relaxation (which is an approach that tightens the smoothing and approximation property bounds of Hackbusch). I also noted Patrick's comment that it would be interesting to see if the theory could be extended to cover cases where we do not have coercivity of A^\epsilon but only that its spectrum is bounded away from zero. Feel free to update with other comments/corrections as we go. Thanks, Lawrence
