Dear Madam, dear Sir,
I am part of the HPC platforms team and we are getting quite some
tickets in regarding the installation of FireDrake. From what I
understand, part of the software development is done here at Imperial as
well so I thought it might be a good idea to reach out and see how we
both can work together to simplify the installation of the software on
HPC clusters. I am aware that other sites also have problems with users
trying to install it.
We are using EasyBuild here at Imperial and thus a good way forward
would be to create an EasyConfig file, which will take care of all the
extensions, in particular the often difficult to install PETSc one for
example. Once a working EasyConfig file has been merged into EasyBuild,
updating it. We done something similar with the Health-GPS project a few
years ago and now that community is pushing new EasyConfig files into
EasyBuild if and when there are updates of the code.
If you are interested about what the EasyBuild community does, here is
the program of the EasyBuild User Meeting (EUM24):

I am away from the University next week but happy to meet up over a
coffee when I am back.
Kind regards
Jörg
