Problem to install Firedrake on Ubuntu 18.04.2 LTS

Retrieving Matrix and Vector from LinearVariationalSolver

Hi, I'm working on a problem that requires solving a linear problem with non-constant bilinear and linear forms. I would like to wrap it into a LinearVariationalSolver, but also be able to access the assembled matrix and right hand side vector. I have figured out how to retrieve the assembled matrix, but as for grabbing the assembled right hand side, I've only been able to get it with a workaround. Firedrake installation on Cray

Greetings, I was trying to build Firedrake on Cray using these instructions https://github.com/firedrakeproject/firedrake-archer. Initially I was having segmentation fault at step-3 which is resolved now. I curated most of the python dependencies using Anaconda but then at step 4 I am getting error message of not having Python/SSL package and many more. I do not have the Sudo privilege and its becoming little cumbersome to curate all dependencies locally. Do you have any bash script written to do it locally on clusters ?. Also I feel that step 4 script needs to be little tweaked for Cray (beskow) installation. loopy wants to make a directory

Hi folks, When running on ARCHER (national supercomputer) we need to set new paths for writing cache files because you have to build in /home but compute nodes are only allowed to write to /work. Since the loo.py changes it looks like we need to set paths for loo.py as well, otherwise I get the message at the bottom of this email. I think this is caused by the fact that the loopy changes have been merged in tsfc but not in complex. The right answer to this is to merge master into complex. A plausible workaround is to checkout tsfc commit efc06ae45ec71aaa2742c253f339f5fade97f85d, which is the last commit before loopy landed.
