Dear microscopists & colleagues, It is this time of the year again for our annual FILM Microscopy Day, which will take place on June 3rd 2016 in G34 (SAFB) from 9:45am. (program attached) We again have an exciting program covering some basics in the morning: Steve will give an overview of the light microscopy principles and tips and tricks for sample preparation before imaging, and David will explain how to make the most of your images by understanding and handling the data within it. In the afternoon, we will have more research-oriented talks by Leo Carlin on intravital microscopy to study immunological processes and Alexandre Dufour who will present his work on cellular morphodynamics using bioimage informatics. We are very happy to have Michelle Peckham from Leeds university as our plenary speaker, who will present the variety of imaging approaches her lab uses to understand the cytoskeleton (live-imaging, PALM/STORM, SIM, EM, AFM...). Don't miss it!! You will also have the opportunity to present your project during the Microscopy Match-Maker, a 3 min presentation (3x as long as your "PhD thesis in 1 min"!!). It is always very interesting to hear about what is being done here at Imperial College and beyond! We have 20 slots, so please register (eventbrite: choose ticket with Match-Maker)!! Microscopists from outside Imperial college are also invited to present their research!
