[FILM-Users 00538] FYI: Next LSR-meeting 26th February 2015, 4pm, South Ken
Dear FILM-users, My apologies for those who will receive this message twice - but below an invitation to attend our upcoming London Super-Resolution meeting. You don't need to be doing super-res to attend, just to be interested in it :) The talks can give you an example of what can be done in SR. Most methods are available at FILM (PALM, SIM,STORM, TIRF) or at Imperial (photonics). Looking forward to seeing you there! Cheers Debbi From: lsr-group-bounces@imperial.ac.uk [mailto:lsr-group-bounces@imperial.ac.uk] On Behalf Of Keller, Debora Sent: 06 February 2015 16:42 To: lsr-group Subject: [lsr-group] Next LSR-meeting 26th February 2015, 4pm, South Ken Dear SR-afficionados, It is time for another session filled with interesting super-res talks! We even managed to cover all (main) methods: SIM, STED, STORM and TIRF within our 3 distinguished speakers!! Who: - Jason Mercer (MRC-LMCB, University College London): 'How to build a virus...A really big virus' - Siân Culley (MRC-LMCB, University College London): "Smaller, Better, Faster, (yet not) Stronger" - George Ashdown (EBN, King's College London): "Dynamics of the Actin Cytoskeleton and Plasma Membrane at the Immunological Synapse using live-cell super resolution microscopy" When: 26th of February 4pm to 5:30pm. Where: G34 lecture theatre, Sir Alexander Fleming building, South Kensington, Imperial College London (link to google maps here<https://www.google.com/maps/place/Sir+Alexander+Fleming+Bldg,+Kensington,+London+SW7+2DD,+UK/@51.4976265,-0.176637,17z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m2!3m1!1s0x4876055cc90a6575:0x58ae790decc0b371?hl=en>) BONUS: To take full advantage of the wide range of experts present at this meeting, you, the audience, will have to opportunity to submit your questions/problems that you are facing in super-res. Surely someone will be able to help you out, and who knows, this could be the beginning of a wonderful scientific collaboration! :) If you already have some questions in mind, please send them to us (Dylan, Ricardo and myself) ahead of the meeting so we can already brainstorm a bit! And, in the great tradition of the LSR meetings, we will continue our scientific and non-scientific socializing in a nearby pub (still TBD). Looking forward to seeing you there!
