Dear all, See below the annoucement for the ESRIC super-resolution summer school, a great opportunity to learn more about SR and get some hands-on as well. Truly recommend it. Best wishes, Debbi The ESRIC Super-Resolution Summer School 8th - 12th of August 2016 **** REGISTRATION CLOSES ON THE 30th OF APRIL **** The ESRIC Summer School is a five-day residential course held in Edinburgh during the world-renowned Edinburgh Festival, which brings together researchers from across the globe in an informal setting to network and learn everything there is to know about super-resolution microscopy. ***Travel Bursaries available for Post-Doctorate applicants*** Applications: This is the final call for applications for the 2016 course! For the opportunity to attend please apply via this link: http://www.esric.org/summer-school.html [http://esric.org/images/images/banner_for_page.jpg]<http://www.esric.org/summer-school.html> Summer School - ESRIC<http://www.esric.org/summer-school.html> www.esric.org ESRIC Summer School 2016. Registration is OPEN! To apply please send the Event Brochure and letter of motivation to Debby.Dawson@olympus.co.uk. You can download the ... Details: The course is designed to give participants a thorough grounding in super-resolution microscopy in an informal and intimate setting. It brings together leading academics and the major suppliers of super-resolution microscopes to provide expertise and guidance in structured illumination microscopy (SIM), 3D stimulated emission depletion microscopy (STED), AiryScan Microscopy and single molecule localization microscopies (PALM, sptPALM and dSTORM). The summer school will include informal lectures on the theory of these approaches, the benefits and limitations of each technology and how they can be applied to real world biological research questions. This will be supported by extensive hands on workshops, using the latest equipment, from the major microscopy suppliers. In addition participants will have ample time to gain project specific advice from all of the academic experts and suppliers through dedicated Q&A sessions and informal social events. The course is suitable for anyone with prior experience of fluorescence microscopy looking to exploit the benefits of super-resolution microscopy in their research.
