[FILM-Users 00475] FILM Crew changes: Mark leaving, Debora coming
Dear microscopists, we are in the middle of two major changes to the FILM Crew: After almost four years of great services to the facility and users, *Mark Scott* will move on to seek new challenges and explore microscopy down under at the *WEHI in Melbourne*. He has been an essential part of FILM with his strong knowledge, especially in intravital two-photon microscopy, and has been central to become so successful, sharing and developing his expertise with Cristina Lo Celso's lab. Many of you will have appreciated his friendly personality and competent teaching, we thank him for all his contributions and for the good times we have shared, and wish him all the best for his new role! He will dedicate much of his time to intra-vital imaging there as well, so if his knowledge is too sorely missed, I'm sure we'll be in touch and tap into it in the future. By lucky coincidence, our*latest FILM Crew member Debora Keller *has just started here end of last week. Debora's main focus will be the new super-resolution microscope, helping with installation, testing, user training, data handling, data processing and everything that comes with it. She has spent her whole PhD at EPFL Lausanne and much of her postdoc time at the MRC in Mill Hill on super-resolution, so she will be able to give in-depth support to all super-resolution projects. But apart from that, she will also be able to help out with routine questions and trouble shooting on other FILM microscopes, it will just take a bit of time for her to get to know the large range of our equipment. For those of you who would like to say a personal goodbye to Mark or welcome to Debora, we will convene for drinks on Monday night (24th of February) from 6.30pm at the Drayton Arms <http://www.thedraytonarmssw5.co.uk/>, 153 Old Brompton Road, London SW5 0LJ. Thanks and best wishes for the future Mark, welcome and also best wishes for here Debbi, and good imaging everybody, Martin -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Martin Spitaler, PhD* *FILM - Facility for Imaging by Light Microscopy* - Facility Manager - Sir Alexander Fleming Building, desk 401 Imperial College London / South Kensington Exhibition Road London SW7 2AZ UK Tel. +44-(0)20-759-42023 E-mail m.spitaler@imperial.ac.uk <mailto:m.spitaler@imperial.ac.uk> Website: http://imperial.ac.uk/imagingfacility
