[FILM-Users 00868] FILM Microscopy Technician post to cover parental leave
Dear FILM users, This could be an ideal post for a keen Microscopist who would like to explore what it is like to work in our microscopy core facility: We wish to recruit a Microscopy Technician in the Facility for Imaging by Light Microscopy (FILM) within Imperial College London to cover for a parental leave. FILM provides access to a wide range of state-of-the-art microscopy equipment and offers the training and assistance required for the use of the instruments. Imaging techniques include widefield, confocal, multi-photon, super-resolution and high content microscopy. The post will be based primarily at the South Kensington campus. You will have responsibility for user support and training as well as the day-to-day running and maintenance of the microscopes, in conjunction with other FILM staff. Duties include advising on experimental design in a wide range of experimental systems as well as support in data handling and processing. You should have a Bachelor's Degree in a technical or biological area related to light microscopy, proven experience in light microscopy including confocal microscopy and at least some experience/knowledge in image processing and quantification using standard software such as ImageJ/Fiji. . The post is covering parental leave and is fixed term for a period of 4 months, starting January 2nd 2020. Salary will be in the range £38,006 - £46,627 a year.
