[FILM-Users 00519] thanks
Dear microscopists, at the end of the Microscopy Day everybody was in a rush to go to the drinks, so I would like to give my thanks by email to all who made my time in FILM a really special time: There are too many to mention, but first of course is Tony Magee, who did the hard work to get the money that got FILM of the ground (together with Mike Ferenczi and Dan Davis), and gave me the great opportunity to help it growing to its current strength. Anna McDadd and Ian Morris were always there to help with practical issues regarding the rooms; Pat Evans and her team have been working hard to sort out the organisation and administration; Richard Mattin and his troop have been incredible helpful with all admin tasks; Sarah Butcher and her excellent Bioinformatics Support Service team; and all you microscopists who have been using the microscopes and gave me insights into the most weird, wonderful and spectacular science. A special thanks goes to my colleagues Steve Rothery and Debora Keller, who are incredibly hardworking and dedicated to help people and sort out all problems, often behind the scenes, unnoticed by users. It's been a great time, and although I have now moved on to new challenges (to be more precise, to the MPI for Biochemistry in Munich), I'll always have good memories and hope FILM will keep moving from strength to strength. Meanwhile, if you still need to contact me, I don't have a new address yet, but just use my normal Imperial College email account, this will still work for quite some time. All the best, and much more good imaging, Martin
