Dear all, FYI, three microscopy jobs -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: Rowlands, Christopher J <CONFOCALMICROSCOPY@LISTS.UMN.EDU<mailto:CONFOCALMICROSCOPY@LISTS.UMN.EDU>> Date: Thursday, 3 December 2020 Subject: Three PDRA / PhD positions available at Imperial College London To: CONFOCALMICROSCOPY <CONFOCALMICROSCOPY@LISTS.UMN.EDU<mailto:CONFOCALMICROSCOPY@LISTS.UMN.EDU>> ***** To join, leave or search the confocal microscopy listserv, go to: http://lists.umn.edu/cgi-bin/wa?A0=confocalmicroscopy Post images on http://www.imgur.com <http://www.imgur.com%20> and include the link in your posting. ***** Dear delightful worldwide microscopy community, You may have heard recently that the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative awarded thirteen $1M grants to investigate new approaches for deep tissue imaging, and my lab was very fortunate in being part of two of these awarded grants: https://chanzuckerberg.com/science/programs-resources/imaging/frontiers/ I am therefore looking for passionate, capable and resourceful postdocs to join the lab and hopefully revolutionize deep-tissue imaging! I would be most grateful if you know someone who might be looking for a postdoc (or even if you yourself are looking for one!), that you point them in the direction of this advert: https://www.imperial.ac.uk/jobs/description/ENG01476/two-research-associate-... There is a retweetable version here: https://twitter.com/ImperialBioeng/status/1333730754199744515 In addition, there is also an associated fully-funded PhD studentship available here if you know any students who might be interested: https://www.imagingcdt.com/project/dormouse-detection-of-reflected-microscop... <https://www.imagingcdt.com/project/dormouse-detection-of-reflected-microscopic-optical-ultrasound-emission/%20> I will of course be more than happy to discuss any of these posts with anyone who is interested. Please spread the word! "This is an exciting and broad-ranging position to a candidate with the right blend of skills. You will be responsible for driving adoption of new imaging techniques and expanding our range of services. In particular, you will master the latest tissue clearing techniques and establish these within the institute. This will involve setting up workflows, writing documentation, training and advising users, and assisting in the early stages of image analysis. You will help run our fleet of custom automated microscopy systems. Finally, you will be responsible for maintenance and user training of our wide-field and confocal microscopes. Our imaging facility is still new and the candidate will play an important role in developing the facility itself, in terms of strategy, operation and resourcing. The post-holder will have opportunities to form collaborations within UCL and beyond."
