[FILM-Users 00516] Re: visit to access possible options on TCS SP5 systems
Hi Paul, I've copied all other contacts in: Steve Rothery and Debora Keller, plus the <film-service@imperial.ac.uk>, which actually goes to those two as well. Or phone ++44(0)20-759-49793. All the best, Martin On 20/06/2014 14:09, Suckling, Paul wrote:
Hi Martin
I have just left you a voice message about the mail below as I was wanting to come in and see you next Thursday to look at and discussion the possibility for moving 405nm and MP parts around the systems , but then of course I notice you are actually leaving on the 25^th , so we would miss each other .
I am really committed elsewhere until next Thursday so do you have a name of someone I could contact about the request ?
Really sorry for this , but just come back to me and lets see what can be arranged.
Regards and all the very best for the future .
Paul

Dear Leica Service,
in the facility, we have 3 Leica SP5 systems under full service contract:
o serial number 5100000307: SP5 multiphoton upright o serial number 5100000293: SP5 multiphoton inverted o serial number 5100000291: SP5 resonant
In a room next door, there is an under-used SP2-multiphoton system (serial number 1428000528), which is getting old and needs to make space for new equipment. But the microscope is still fully functional, so we would like to explore options to re-use part on existing equipment:
o the Mai Tai multiphoton laser could be used on the inverted multi-photon SP5 system (currently, both multiphoton systems share one laser) o the motorised stage could be used on the resonant SP5 system o the 405nm laser could be used on the upright multi-photon SP5 system o the microscope stand and optical table would be used in other labs
We therefore need two bits of information: First, we need a Leica engineer to come in and check compatibility (physical dimensions, Windows-7 64b drivers etc). Once that's established, we will then need a quote about costs for the work involved.
Could you please first send out an engineer to check the technical feasibility?
Best regards,
Martin --
