Dear Microscopists, I am excited to announce that we now have a light-sheet microscope in our line-up of instruments in FILM! Our new Leica Stellaris 5 DLS (Digital Light Sheet) microscope and was funded by the BBSRC 19 Alert call, proposal 'A digital light-sheet microscope for the analysis of biological processes under almost natural conditions' thanks to lead applicant Periklis Pantazis from Bioengineering. The microscope is located at South Kensington. This microscope is ideal for volumetric imaging of medium sized samples and does this very gently with minimum phototoxicity. It allows 3D-imaging of e.g. zebrafish or spheroids/organoids over time. Furthermore photo-manipulation by confocal microscopy is possible using the same instrument.
