[FILM-Users 00006] Fwd: Call for applications to Lasers for Science Facility at Harwell and Laser Loan Pool
Dear microscopists, although most of you are hopefully perfectly happy with the equipment we have to offer in FILM, if you who need the latest, most advanced, most expensive and challenging laser technology for special imaging applications you might be interested in the offer from the "Laser for Science Facility" of the STFC in Harwell described in the email below. Good imaging, Martin https://fileexchange.imperial.ac.uk/files/5775a73b59e/LSF%20call%20period%20... ################################################################### -------- Original Message -------- Subject: Call for applications to Lasers for Science Facility at Harwell and Laser Loan Pool Date: Tue, 2 Nov 2010 10:11:29 +0000 From: dave.clarke@STFC.AC.UK <dave.clarke@STFC.AC.UK> Reply-To: dave.clarke@STFC.AC.UK <dave.clarke@STFC.AC.UK> To: UK-EUROBIOIMAGING-PROJECT@JISCMAIL.AC.UK <UK-EUROBIOIMAGING-PROJECT@JISCMAIL.AC.UK> Dear all, At previous meetings a number of people have asked me about access to the Lasers for Science Facility at Harwell, particularly the OCTOPUS imaging system. This is just to let everyone know we have just issued a call for applications, with the deadline of 10th December. This is for access between from April-September 2011, inclusive. Applications are assessed by peer-review, and successful applications are "free at the point of access" with some funds available for consumables, and travel and subsistence for experimenters. Details of the application process are attached, and more information about the microscopes available at: http://www.clf.rl.ac.uk/Facilities/Lasers+for+Science+Facility/12262.aspx You might also be interested in the EPSRC laser loan pool, which lends out laser systems for use in the applicants' own labs. We visit the labs of successful applicants to help set up the lasers. Information on this at (same deadline): http://www.clf.rl.ac.uk/Facilities/Laser+Loan+Pool/14706.aspx If you're interested in applying and would like more information, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
