Hi All The high pressure mercury fluorescent lamps on CF2, CF4, CF5, SR1 and the WF1 have all now been replaced with LED systems Instructions for their use is by each microscope They are simple to use but please ensure that they are turned off (using the on/off button on the control unit) when not in use For CF2, CF4, CF5, SR1 When starting the systems you do not need to switch on these units at start up - you switch on and off only as you need them. To preserve their life we would ask you to remember to switch off the units as soon as you have finished observing down the eyepieces To use them all you do is select the channels as before then press the on button on the unit Individual channel brightness can now also be changed using the unit Eventually we hope to fit multi-cubes to the system so that all channels can be observed simultaneously Press off when you start scanning NB please check that the unit is off when you finish or shutdown **************************************************************************************** IMPORTANT for FW1 users - You will need you profiles updated I am around today and the microscope is booked by me so that we can setup user profiles If you are going to use the system in the next few days please come along so we can update your profiles ***************************************************************************************** On/off will be controlled by software but you have to sect wavelengths and power manually If you are unsure please ask for a demonstration Bw Steve FILM - Facility for Imaging by Light Microscopy ************************************************************** Steve Rothery FILM Technician Sir Alexander Fleming Building, desk 403 Imperial College London / South Kensington Exhibition Road London SW7 2AZ Tel +44-(0)207 594 9793 And ICTEM, (L-Block) Room 314 Hammersmith Campus Imperial College London Du Cane Road London, W12 0NN Tel. +44-(0)207 594 1669 E-mail s.rothery@imperial.ac.uk<mailto:s.rothery@imperial.ac.uk> Website: http://www.imperial.ac.uk/medicine/facility-for-imaging-by-light-microscopy/ **************************************************************
