Dear Colleagues,
We have noticed an issue with oil contamination on the objectives of our systems, which hinders normal usage. The FILM staff is currently addressing this by cleaning the affected objectives using stereo microscopes and established procedures. Please note that this cleaning process may take between 1-2 hours to complete thoroughly.
Each morning, I endeavor to check the systems; however, the distance between our buildings makes it challenging to simultaneously monitor the microscopes in both the SAF and ICTEM buildings. This situation underscores the importance of each user's responsibility to maintain and respect our shared equipment. To further enhance our workflow and ensure compliance, we will implement a charge for the cleaning services in cases where users leave objectives contaminated. This policy will be enforced going forward to prevent such issues.
Thank you for your attention to this matter and for your cooperation in maintaining the standards of our facility.
Best regards,
Volodymyr
