Dear microscopists, unfortunately, on WF2 the 63x oil immersion objective has been damaged again, the front lens has been pushed in. Everybody, please be extremely careful with objective lenses, especially when changing stage inserts or moving motorised stages. Last time this happened, the repair cost over £2,500, if irreparable, a new lens of this quality would cost £6,000-8,000!! So please, however urgent your experiments, be extremely careful with the equipment. And while this lens is being repaired, the 63x oil objective needs to be shared between WF2 and CF5. Please send a message to SHAREPOINT HARDWARE REQUESTS a day in advance if you want to use it, and do NOT move it around yourself.
