recently it has happened far too frequently again that immersion
oil ended up on water and air objective lenses, particularly on CF3,
and sometimes the whole objective turret is full of oil. This can
create considerable problems for other users and time to clean,
especially if the oil goes inside the objective turret. Sometimes
users get no or bad quality images from their samples, and more
inexperienced users might not even be able to identify the source of
the problem.
Can ALL of you please be more careful to avoid this problem! If
you are not sure what type of objective lens is in the selected
position, please ask! If you add oil to an air or water lens by
mistake, please tell us! It avoids problems for other users, and if
done quickly, it's much easier to clean then later when the oil
hardens.
Thanks for your cooperation, good imaging,
Martin
