The post is available for up to 2 years. This is a full-time post funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council as part of a multidisciplinary research project to develop and apply novel approaches for /in vivo/ multiphoton microscopy of tissue autofluorescence for clinical applications. The successful applicant will have a background in fluorescence imaging technology, preferably with experience of multiphoton microscopy, designing optical systems, working with single mode and multimode optical fibres, and working with and aligning ultrafast lasers. Their role will be to develop a novel hand-held motion-stabilised multiphoton microscopy system for clinical applications. This will include the development of appropriate hardware and software, its implementation for /in vivo/ imaging and an evaluation of its performance.
