It
is best to not attribute FLIMfit to an individual. It is
really Sean Warren’s code but Ian and Yuriy have worked hard
to integrate it with OMERO and make it work with different
types of data. It would be better to describe it as from
Imperial’s Photonics Group or from Physics etc
Best
wishes,
Paul

Subject: [FILM-Users 00418] Fwd: OMERO news
Dear microscopists,
in principle just a forwarded message - but there are some
interesting news about the OMERO image database. This time not
so much about the software itself, but about the information
on the website and the user community: They have completely
redone parts of the website, and there are two major
improvements:
By the way, once our new server is
installed we plan to give every FILM user a start-up account
with OMERO, including some storage space.
Good imaging,
Martin

OMERO & Bio-Formats 4.4.9 release
Dear All,
Today we are launching 4.4.9, a bug-fix release addressing a
number of issues across all components.
For OMERO, this includes:
* fixing compatibility issues between clients and
servers using different Ice versions e.g. client using Ice
3.3 connecting to a server using Ice 3.4;
* adding Ice 3.5 support;
* updating minimum system requirements to Java 1.6 (Java
1.5 is no longer supported);
* a major reworking of the testing infrastructure;
* new scripting sharing service as requested by users
[1];
* new user help website to host workflow-based guides
[2];
* new partner project pages to highlight work going on
within the extended OME consortium.[3]
A security vulnerability [4] has also been identified and
resolved, meaning that we strongly recommend all users
upgrade their OMERO clients and servers. Sysadmin
documentation for upgrading your server is at
http://www.openmicroscopy.org/site/support/omero4/sysadmins/server-upgrade.html.
Bio-Formats improvements include a number of bug fixes
including for the ND2 format.
Full details are available on the OMERO Github milestone [5]
and the Bio-Formats Github milestone [6] pages.
The software is available from
http://downloads.openmicroscopy.org/omero/4.4.9/
and
http://downloads.openmicroscopy.org/bio-formats/4.4.9/
This move to downloads.openmicroscopy.org<http://downloads.openmicroscopy.org>
is to facilitate all versions of the software being
available from one location - legacy versions will be
available here soon.
Kind regards,
The OME team
