DO YOU REQUIRE HISTOLOGY FOR YOUR RESEARCH PROJECT?

The Respiratory Biomedical Research Unit (RBRU) Histopathology Core Facility (HCF) is equipped to provide a histology service for researchers and students alike, who are looking into the aetiology, diagnosis, prevention and/or treatment of various diseases relating to the respiratory system.

Working with the Biobank team, researchers are able to access the diagnostic tissue archive which contains a broad range of lung pathology samples that may be used for their research.

In-house consultants specialising in lung pathology are also available to provide their expert advice and knowledge at various stages of research such as the interpretation of results and the selection of the most appropriate samples to be used in relation to the research project.

The laboratory is staffed by experienced technical and scientific personnel who are able to perform specialised histological techniques which include:

-          Tissue processing

-          Embedding

-          Construction of tissue micro-arrays (TMAs)
