Dear All A reminder to please take care of the microscope objectives On returning to the facility after the Xmas break, several oil objectives still had oil on them Please remember to carefully clean off the oil at the end of your session In addition this image shows the state of one of the dry objectives from the Hammersmith widefield. The surface had the remains of a broken coverslip on it and because it had been left in this condition, this resulted in it drying down onto the surface. Luckily in this case, it was possible to remove the glass and clean the objective without it being damaged. Please, please take care of our objectives - they are expensive and time consuming to replace and inconvenience other users [cid:image001.jpg@01D6E40D.7390B720] Thank you for your cooperation Bw steve FILM - Facility for Imaging by Light Microscopy ************************************************************** Steve Rothery FILM Technician Sir Alexander Fleming Building, desk 403 Imperial College London / South Kensington Exhibition Road London SW7 2AZ Tel +44-(0)207 594 9793 And ICTEM, (L-Block) Room 314 Hammersmith Campus Imperial College London Du Cane Road London, W12 0NN Tel. +44-(0)207 594 1669 E-mail s.rothery@imperial.ac.uk<mailto:s.rothery@imperial.ac.uk> Website: http://www.imperial.ac.uk/medicine/facility-for-imaging-by-light-microscopy/ **************************************************************
