Dear FILM-users,
We had the demo of a localization-based super-resolution microscope from Abbelight at King’s last year and have been contacting people interested in this afterwards regarding a possible grant application. I just
wanted see if there is additional interest which we might have missed. We are still looking for a committed lead-applicant with a matching research interest and can provide help writing the grant.
This is about a microscope for single molecule based PALM/STORM super-resolution microscopy. It offers higher laser power, better resolution (20 nm x 20 nm x 35 nm), a larger field of view (compared to our existing
Zeiss Elyra system) and better 3D capabilities. Please see the website for details
https://www.abbelight.com/solutions/abbelight-instruments/#SAFe360
This instrument will be as demanding in sample preparation as our Elyra system and only works well with specific bright fluorophores, very high labelling density, special buffer conditions and it takes time to
figure these out for an individual sample.
Please contact me if you are interested in this project
Best wishes
Andreas
