Dear microscopists, you may have wondered what happened to our annual FILM Image Of The Year competition? It hasn't disappeared, just slightly postponed. Because the end of the year is usually a hectic time for everybody, I decided to have it slightly later this time, the deadline will be end of January. Details have to be confirmed, but Invitrogen have already agreed to sponsor it again, so you can look forward to nice price(s) and calendars. For those of you new to FILM, this competition is awarding the most impressive and beautiful microscopy images, as judged by an external jury including members from the Natural HIstory Museum and Tate Modern. For previous winners, see our gallery on the FILM website. I'll send you more information early in January, but start browsing through your best images taken in FILM in 2010.
