Dear microscopists, just a reminder that today is the Zeiss presentation about their widefield and confocal systems. And if you haven't booked your slot to test their widefield demo system next week, please do so soon. See you there, good imaging, Martin On 10/10/2011 10:34, Martin Spitaler wrote:
Dear microscopists,
as announced earlier, we continue the demonstration and testing of microscopes for the L-Block in Hammersmith next week with the Zeiss widefield system. The system will come with a full incubation chamber, various cameras, LED illumination for fast switching and motorised stage. As an optional extra, which is probably beyond our current financial limits, but might be an interesting add-on later, they will probably also bring a Vivatome system, which offers fast, near-confocal imaging similar to a spinning disc, but based on a different principle (see <http://zeiss-campus.magnet.fsu.edu/tutorials/opticalsectioning/vivatomeopticaltrain/index.html> for details.
The Zeiss system will be available in room SAFB-530 (Fleming Building, South Kensington Campus) from Tuesday 18 to Thursday 20 October 2011 all day, please book your time slot for testing by replying to this email.
And as an introduction, this *Friday, 14 October 2011, 15.00 in the seminar room SAFB-120* Zeiss will give an overview of their widefield and confocal systems, including explanations of the confocal GaAsp detectors, meta scan head, Vivatome, LED illumination etc.
And the next demonstrations will be the Leica systems. The Leica confocal SP5 demonstration (with sensitive Hybrid detectors) will be in the week from 31 Oct 2011, the Leica widefield demonstration is not yet fixed.
Please come along for testing, good imaging,
