Dear Users, Thanks for all of you who registred for the microscopy day! There are still a few spots available for the Match-Maker session, to which I encourage you to register! What happens during the Match-Maker: you have 3 minutes to present your work involving microscopy to your audience. it is a free format so you can choose to have a few powerpoint slides or not. We are happy to invite you to the 2015 FILM Microscopy DayThe morning session you will be able to remember the "basics" with presentations from Martin Spitaler (former-FILM manager) on fluorophores and how they work, and the basics of microscopy by Nicolas Olivier (KCL) before moving on to super-resolution microscopy (Debbi, FILM).We will again host our famous "Microscopy Match Maker" where users can present snapshots of their research and, who knows, discover new avenues for collaboration within or outside Imperial! Just a small reminder please register for the demo: slots from Tomorrow to Friday (see below). Zeiss are bringing a new version of ZEN, it would be worth even for HWF1 users to test it out :) Cheers Debbi Dear Users. We will have our last demo next week from Tuesday June 2nd to Friday June 5th. As before, the registration excel sheet is on \\film-nas.med.ic.ac.uk\scratch\_HCS demo<file:///\\film-nas.med.ic.ac.uk\scratch\_HCS%20demo> REGISTER to demo with your samples :) Some of you will be familiar with the Zeiss system as it is very similar to the Hammersmith HWF1 widefield. The Cell Observer system is based on a Axio Observer.Z1 inverted microscope and comprises: - with motorised focus; Definite Focus for focus hold system; - Motorised X,Y stage with inserts for slides, dishes and well plates; - LED light source with LEDs and filters for the range of dyes we discussed previously plus a metal halide system for additional wavelength selection; - Incubation chamber for sample temperature maintenance; - a range of objectives - both high NA for maximum quality plus some long working distance objectives for use with thicker plastic vessels. - ZEN imaging workstation with a Hamamatsu Orca FLASH 4 camera & we will be able to show the functionality of ZEN for feedback experiments. The software should also enables setting up different acquisition parameters as well as segmentation feedback into the acquisiont. I would strongly encourage you to come with your samples and test the system! It is the last one! :) If there are any questions, please let me know!
