The Respiratory Biomedical Research Unit (RBRU) Histopathology Core Facility (HCF) is equipped to provide a histology service for researchers and students alike, who are looking into the aetiology, diagnosis, prevention and/or treatment of various diseases relating to the respiratory system. Working with the Biobank team, researchers are able to access the diagnostic tissue archive which contains a broad range of lung pathology samples that may be used for their research. In-house consultants specialising in lung pathology are also available to provide their expert advice and knowledge at various stages of research such as the interpretation of results and the selection of the most appropriate samples to be used in relation to the research project. Dear users, The Nikon Small World Competition is open again (closing Friday May 1st), so if you have any beautiful images that you want to share to the world (and we know you have beautiful images) don't hesitate! The images don't need to be taken on a Nikon!! You can enter up to 3 images or videos in each competition. Each year the competition has several hundred high-quality images that are not selected by the judges and I would like encourage all participants to continue to enter images both new and old allowing a new set of judges the opportunity to view your body of work. Over the past years, many of the images that have been re-entered have gone on to win prizes. Please make sure you have transferred your data on your own storage space (computer, external HD, server) by Friday 17th noon. As a reminder, scratch is only a transfer server (from the microscope to your own computer) not for storage.
